Our Veterinarian

Dr. Renee D. Fisher, DVM, Practice Owner

Dr. Renee D. Fisher established the Milan Veterinarian Clinic in 1991. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Animal Behavior from Bucknell University in 1980, and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree from the University of Florida’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 1986.

She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association (PVMA) and is an associate member of the American Animal Hospital Association(AAHA), adhering to their strict guidelines in providing the best quality care available to your pet today.

Dr. Fisher has five children. Her oldest son, Ryan, graduated from West Virginia University with a BS in Business and Accounting and is the assistant manager for Vista BMW/Mini; a BMW/Mini Cooper dealership in Ft. Lauderdale. Her daughter Kasey also graduated from WVU with a BS in Marketing, a BS in Design and most recently a BS in Chemical Engineering. She is currently employed by Schlumberger’s and lives in West Virginia with her fiance, Alex, who is an attorney. Her daughter, Kelly, is an optometrist in Ft. Lauderdale, getting her optometry degree from Nova SE. Her son, Scott, is a junior in medical school at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and will pursue a career as an anesthesiologist. Scott and his fiance, Lauren, a junior in veterinary school at the University of Pennsylvania, reside in Philadelphia. Her daughter, Ashlee, graduated from Penn State’s main campus with a BS in Health Professions with a minor in Psychology. Ashlee wants to pursue a career in Medical Sales.


Mandy Towner, Certified Veterinary Technician

Mandy attended Johnson College where she earned an Associate Degree in Veterinary Science. She then took the National Veterinary Technician Exam where she then became a certified veterinary technician in 2001. She has over 17 years of experience and joined our staff in September, 2013. She believes that there is no greater feeling than to watch the reaction of a pet and their owner after being reunited together again.

Mandy, her boyfriend Neil and her children Dylan and Emma have a house full of critters. Isis, Delilah, and RJ are her 3 dogs, and she also has 4 cats, Butter, Alice, Mittens and Salem. She also has 2 pet rats, a guinea pig, chickens and ducks.

Besides work, Mandy really loves spending time with her family and friends.



Bernadette McDonald, Groomer

Bernadette has been in practice at the Milan Veterinarian Clinic for 9 years. She our clinic’s groomer. Bernadette lives with her boyfriend Ed and their 2 dogs Hershey and Kasey and their 2 cats Molly and Oscar.

Bernadette’s hobbies include: cooking, gardening and sewing. She also enjoys spending time with her mother, granddaughter Emily and her great grandchildren.





Rachel Tice, Veterinary Assistant

Rachel rejoined our staff in August 2017. Rachel and her fiance Jeff have a dog named Whiskey and a bearded dragon named Cletus. She loves being outside and enjoys horseback riding, hunting, shooting archery, and other outdoor activities. Often times her dog, Whiskey, accompanies her in these while doing these activities.




Shanna Knapp, Receptionist

Shanna joined our staff in September 2017. She obtained an Associates Degree in Business from Keystone College in 2008. Shanna has over 5 years of experience in the animal health industry.

Shanna and her husband Eric have 4 children; Tanner, Eden, Kamden and Madalyn. They share their home with their dog Roxy, pet rats, a hamster and a hedgehog.

Shanna enjoys spending time with her family, crafting with her sister and music.
